The Dickies Newcastle Academy 29th July Gig Review
The Dickies roadshow rolled into town last night. I have seen them so many times that as they get older I keep expecting the wheels to come off the wagon, but year after year they produce the perfect live performance and this year was no exception.
You know what you’re going to get, a greatest hits show although minus ‘Fan Mail’ last night. The only unusual choice ot track was ‘Shadow Man’. The highlight of the show was a superb version of ‘If Stuart Could Talk’ and the low point the dreadful ‘Rocking in The Free World’, why the persist with that I’ll never know.
And of course there was the usual banter from Leonard directed at Stan. Leonard got loudly booed when it was revealed that he voted for George Bush.
The gig had sold out. 70 people were turned away so if you’re thinking of going to any of the other UK shows I recommend you buy a ticket in advance.
