Here we collect new and experimental avant-garde bands, those artists who pushed boundaries and took music in new directions, along with the closely aligned industrial music bands who fused rock and electronic music with a punk ethic creating brutal, challenging and uncommercial electronic music.
It’s an eclectic field ranging from John Cage to The Residents, Throbbing Gristle to William Burroughs through to Nine Inch Nails and Laibach.
Even combined, we don’t have a massive amount of Industrial/Avant-Garde in the VotN catalogue, but what we lack in quantity is made up for in quality, like Diskomo / Goosebump by Residents, (see above)
